Kee Kee Kiwi at the Skate Bowl

Show him around the class outside. Show him how to play cheat. Show him how to play around the playground. Show him around the rugby post. By Colin, Alex and Ben.

Kee Kee Kiwi goes to the library.

I like reading books I am good at it. I like panda books. I don't like doggy books. Kiwi and penguin books are the best. The funniest books are the chapter books. I like cow books. I was very quiet in the library. All my friends were in the forest books. I was reading the books and I loved the books. I was sitting on the bookshelf looking for books. I had fun in the library. I read a kiwi book. It had my enemies in it. But it had a happy ending.

Long Jump Sandpit

I can jump the hole long jump. That's how fast I can run. I did a front flip in the sandpit front flip in the sand pit. I can jump two long jumps.

Bushcraft Skills

Today we went to the Cobb valley to learn bushcraft skills from some instructors who work at outward bound.  We did location awareness, fire starting, navigation off track, and safety in the bush. The bush safety came in handy when a wasp nest was disturbed and children and instructors got stung.  Everyone did the right thing to sort the problem out. Carrying on the students learnt how to build shelter that would keep the weather out if they got lost. 1 of the other highlights was falling over on the grassland that was very uneven. We finished off with a quick 1 in the river all students but one had to swim in their clothes.  Well done to Shaye for being super organised.   Caleb astonished the teacher by identifying 10 different species of native birds. It was a a fantastic day thanks to wonderful instructors and excellent students.

Cricket at Riwaka

On the weekend we went to Riwaka to play cricket.  We played against Nelson girls.  They batted first.  I got a maiden over.  They meant they got no runs off the over that I did/  In the end they got 190.

Me and  started the batting.  Daniel faced a few then he got out.  Then I faced a few then I got out for a duck.  Then Pax came in and hit a four.  Then he got out.  They had a person more than us so I got too come back in and I started to hit it.  Then I realized that there were two balls left so on the second to last ball I hit it for a four then on the last ball I hit for a six.  Then we had to go find it in the bush.  It took a while to find it but we did.  We lost by 84 runs but we got 106 so that's pretty good for us.

First Post for 2014!

Wow!  This year has been busy.  We have had many school events and I have not blogged about any of them.  It is time to turn the task of managing this blog to the students.  The students have been writing on their individual blogs so check out what has been happening.  Hopefully we will get some new posts on this class blog soon.
